In 2001, actress, writer and producer Sheila Kelley founded the extraordinary movement called S Factor. A passionate mother of two, Sheila built this movement from the ground up, starting in her home office, where she held small classes for friends and fellow moms. It has since evolved into a worldwide trend, with studios in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Encino, Orange County, Houston and Chicago. With plans in the works for locations in Miami, Dallas and Atlanta.

After years of acting in film, television and theater, Sheila co-wrote, produced and starred in Dancing at the Blue Iguana, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2000 and opened in New York and Los Angeles in 2001. It was during the research and preparation for her role as a stripper in this film that Sheila discovered a new passion, resulting in a fit body, increased sensuality and newfound take on her sexual power. The seed of S Factor was planted.

Prior to beginning Sheila's long-spanning acting career, she trained intensively in classical dance for 10 years. She soloed with the Westmoreland Ballet Company and, after winning a dance competition, attended the prestigious New York University's Tisch School of Arts. Though she ultimately graduated from NYU's equally esteemed film school, it was her comprehensive dance background that helped Sheila realize the potential of a new, unique form of movement. Coupled with her newfound knowledge of striptease and pole dancing, Sheila used her intensive ballet training and knowledge of Yoga to carefully, methodically and passionately formulate the S Factor workout.

Sheila developed the S Factor to be a gentle yet rigorous workout, yielding not only amazing physical results, but a broad spectrum of effects on the student's psyche and well-being. By following the female body's natural curve and inclination to move, she realized the S Factor workout could be tailored to each individual's strengths and limitations, while providing a soothing, comfortable movement that is actually indulgent and celebratory. Incorporating meditation and self-touch, it became a way to care for the body and soul, and embrace the wonders of the female body. Students leave class feeling relaxed and comfortable in their bodies, and, most of all, in touch with the beautiful and sensual creatures that we all are. Self-judgment, insecurities and self-loathing are stripped away in layers.

Her work with S Factor has incited a widespread media frenzy, resulting in Sheila's appearances on a plethora of national news and talk shows, including Oprah, 20/20, 48 Hours, VH-1, The View, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Primetime Monday and on networks such as MTV and MSNBC, among a multitude of others. Her S Factor classes are the rage of Hollywood as her most vocal student, Teri Hatcher, has demonstrated to Howard Stern, Oprah, and Barbara Walters, as well as to a variety of magazines including US Weekly, People, Bazaar, OK! Magazine and In Touch. Sheila has taught thousands of students and wrote a book called The S Factor: Strip Workouts for Every Woman, which is now in its fifth printing. She has three exercise DVD/videos available: S Factor 1, The Beginning; S Factor 2, Intermediate with Lap Dance; and Pole Work 101.

An unmistakable, luminous presence resulted in Sheila's long-spanning acting career, which includes an extensive body of work in television, film and theater. From regular roles on television's popular L.A. Law, Sisters, ER and, most recently, a guest starring role on The Sopranos, Sheila co-starred in a wide array of films, including Cameron Crowe's renowned film, Singles, Pure Luck, Matchstick Men, Nurse Betty, One Fine Day, Mozart and the Whale, The Secretary and Rules of Obsession, among others.

Sheila's vast acting career also spans to the world of theater. During her academic career, she wrote and directed several short films and formed her own theater company, The Elephant Group. While with the group, she appeared on stage in The Seagull, Lovers: Winners, The Taming of the Shrew, and Am I Blue? She received critical praise for her remarkable depth as an actress, quickly establishing her within the New York theatrical community. In between television roles and only four months after the birth of her first child, Sheila made her Broadway debut in a play called, My Thing of Love, with Tom Irwin and Laurie Metcalf. In addition, she played Blanche DuBois in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire at A.C.T. in San Francisco.

Sheila is married to actor Richard Schiff, co-star of the Emmy award-winning NBC television series, The West Wing, who has also enjoyed a lengthy and acclaimed acting career. They have a son, Gus, and a daughter named Ruby Christine.
